The Devil's in the Church

The last thing that you'd expect to see in a church is the devil. But that's exactly what we've found! We will not mention the name of the church out of respect, but many of you may know where it is located.

Growing up, our mother (Autumn & Loralie) told us stories about the day she was at school and her other classmates went running into the church to see the devil in the marble. How it actually came about or what caused the impression is unknown to us, but seeing is believing.

Autumn had seen it many moons ago, but Loralie had not. One evening during the fish fry season the family just so happened to be at that particular church and discussing the stories that we were told. After dinner we ventured up to take a peek. Not knowing what to expect, Loralie didn't think much of it. People often say that they see things in the marble and it's comparable to someone saying they see a cloud that looks like a face. With a little eye-squinting you can sort of make something out, but that's not the case here. Loralie could not believe what she saw behind the chair...

2014 Scary Halloween Amusement Parks

Haunted houses have taken over amusement parks over the last decade or so. It's an added bonus, too, for the parks as they can extend their seasons into the fall. They always draw a large crowd since they combine two things that people love... rollercoasters and haunted houses! What's not to like? Caution, these are not for the faint of heart and many are geared towards the older crowd (so leave the little ones at home). Check out Travel Channel's list of must visit places!

Claysville Truck Stop
